Diversity of Escherichia coli strains isolated from day-old broiler chicks, their environment and colibacillosis lesions in 80 flocks in France

چکیده

Avian colibacillosis is the most common bacterial disease affecting broilers. To better evaluate diversity and origin of causative Escherichia coli strains infecting birds, we conducted a study on 80 broiler flocks. Just before arrival chicks farm, samples were collected in farm environment (walls, feeders, air inlets, etc.) and, upon delivery, day-old (DOCs) transport boxes also sampled. Isolates obtained from these samples, organs chickens exhibiting typical symptoms. The isolates characterized using high-throughput qPCR to detect range genetic markers (phylogroups, main serogroups virulence markers, etc.). A total 967 studied, including 203 28 episodes, 484 DOCs, 162 118 environment. These yielded 416 different profiles, which 267 detected single isolates, others observed up 44 nine farms. distributions across phylogroups varied with isolation. cases either shared profile or different. In few cases, same for DOCs lesions flock However, some flocks receiving contaminated bearing identified other remained healthy. This highlights huge among avian E. isolated diseased non birds.

To study the putative transfer of antibiotic resistance from broiler breeders to human, hen’s eggs and theirday-old chicks were examined for the presence of bacteria. The most frequently isolated organisms indecreasing order were: Streptococcus spp., Bacillus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacterspp. and Escherichia coli followed by Citrobacter spp., Proteus spp. and Pseudomo...

Distribution of virulence associated genes in isolated Escherichia coli from avian colibacillosis

BACKGROUND: Colibacillosis is one of the most prevalentdiseases in the world that causes multimillion-dollar annuallosses. OBJECTIVES: In order to evaluate molecular epidemiologyof some virulence associated factors in Escherichia coli, isolated from poultry, the presence of iut A, iss, hly F, omp T, iroN, afa, sfa (S)and pap G (II) were investigated by multiplex PCRassay. METHODS: Two hundred th...

Antimicrobial Resistance Pattern of Escherichia coli Isolated from Chickens with Colibacillosis in Yazd, Iran

Background: The antibiotic resistance is considered as one of the biggest public health concerns in most countries. The aim of this study was to determine antibiotic resistance pattern of Escherichia coli isolated from chickens with colibacillosis in Yazd, Iran. Methods: A total of 200 carcasses of Ross chickens with colibacillosis were collected from farms located around Yazd, central Iran. A...

Phylogenetic analysis of Escherichia coli strains isolated from human samples

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a normal inhabitant of the gastrointestinal tract of vertebrates, including humans. Phylogenetic analysis has shown that E. coli is composed of four main phylogenetic groups (A, B1, B2 and D). Group A and B1 are generally associated with commensals, whereas group B2 is associated with extra-intestinal pathotypes. Most enteropathogenic isolates, however, are assigne...
